Tiny space? Plant a Summer Porch Pot

Can’t live off the land? Plant a pot of herbs for your deck, windowsill, or balcony, so with an easy snip, you can liven up all your summer dishes. Blogger Judy Wright of Judyschickens.org has a pot for every season. This one (left to right) is parsley, marigold, oregano, arugula, basil, rosemary, marigold, parsley. Remember to water frequently as small pots dry out quicker than your garden does. Our favorites:

Parsley makes every thing taste fresher, brighter and just better. Plant the flat leaf Italian variety. Try Skhug or chimichurri.

Mint grows like a weed, but we love it. We use it in these Lamb Burgers with Feta and MInt Also Mojitas anyone?

Oregano. Throw this into your fresh tomato sauce to make your entire house smell like an Italian restaurant.

Basil. One word. Caprese Salad. OK 2.
