Ingredients
- 1 package puff pastry dough, such as Wewalka brand
- 1 egg, beaten with 1 tablespoon water
- 1/2 medium apple, such as Granny Smith, Fuji, or Honeycrisp
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- salted caramel sauce, such as Cocorico French Cuisine, heated
- vanilla ice cream
Preparation
1. Preheat oven to 425F. Line baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Cut a 4" square from puff pastry sheet. Gently stretch it out a bit with fingers. Brush with egg mixture.
3. Slice apple into thin wedges about 1/8" thick. Place on puff pastry, leaving a 1/2" border.
4. Combine sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle on top of apples.
5. Bake 18-20 minutes until crisp and golden brown. Serve with drizzle of warm caramel sauce and a scoop of ice cream.
