Chili, cornbread, a salad and molasses cookies make for a spooky, yet tasty, weekend.

Make a pot of chili and some corbread to go with it. And maybe a kale salad (for the adults). Keep it warm on the stove, along with mugs of apple cider and let the Halloween weekend unfold.

Sweet Potato & Black Bean Chili

This vegetarian chili takes perfectly to a host of other ingredients. Saute the onion in bacon for a smoky, meaty version, add chicken, beef or pork, or add chiles or roasted peppers.

Music City Bowl Vegetable Chili

This vegetarian chili from Chef Skylar Bush is chock-full of vegetables and robust flavors.

Feta Parmesan Cornbread

Kayne Prime's Kale Salad

This is hands down the best selling side at Kayne Prime Steakhouse. They make it in huge quantities. As the kale isn't cooked, the key is to finely chop the kale in a food processor.

Sorghum Molasses Cookies

These cookies are best right out of the oven while still warm and soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside. You can use molasses if you don’t have sorghum.
