Owners of French wine bar and creperie in East Nashville, The Authentique, will be opening a new French bistro in Donelson Monday, September 28. Maminette’s will offer an espresso menu and crepes, omelettes, sandwiches and quiche, as well as sweets like tarts and madeleines. Every dish on this menu is made from scratch with ingredients that are either locally sourced or imported from France.
Jacqueline Maillard, also known as Maminette is the is the inspiration for the bistro and grandmother of owner, Philippine Maillard. Before leaving France for the United States, Philippine requested her grandmother’s recipes, which were given in three handwritten books. Philippine shares that “every Sunday morning, [her grandmother] would wake up at 8 a.m., head to the fresh market and spend the whole morning cooking — filling the house with smells that meant one thing: you were home, you were loved and something wonderful was almost ready. That feeling is exactly what Maminette the café is built around. “
Maminette will be open daily from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m at 104 Graylynn Drive in Donelson. Be sure to visit Maminette this fall! For more information visit maminette.com.
