Enchanting: A Creek Dinner at By Faith Farm
Water dripped gently down leaves and plinked onto white tablecloths as guests gently stepped down into the creek at By Faith Farm.We came prepared for rain but were pleasantly surprised that the weather held off, allowing for a picturesque evening. Thirty-four guests joined us for an intimate evening at socially-distanced tables to accommodate the ever-present pandemic. Before setting foot in the water, guests toured the farm, which boasts of a ‘pick your own flower’ field, dreamy Air BNB overlooking the property and rolling green hills.
Chefs Skylar Bush, James Kerwin and Robert Bossman prepared creek inspired food (crayfish sausage anyone) in the dusk which quickly turned to moonlight. Volunteer servers gingerly walked through the wet grass down to the creek with plates of rabbit spätzle and grilled wagyu steak provided by Tennessee Grass Fed.The music by Mark Mulch, Meg Williams, and Chris and Lolly drifted dreamily to each end of the babbling creek, as attendees sipped on cocktails provided by Uncle Nearest, fine beer courtesy of Tennessee Brew Works, followed by a late evening pick me up of iced OSA cold brew. Next year, kick off your shoes (or wear high boots) for a seat in the creek for some of Nashville’s finest music and eats.
