Flowings: A Creek Dinner in Leiper's Fork
On a humid June evening, guests gingerly stepped down into the cold knee-high waters of the Harpeth Creek in Leiper's Fork to a beautifully set table. Probably the most unlikely of places to dine, but certainly the most fantastic. Welcome to "Flowings: an Edible Nashville Creek Dinner." We partnered with Harpeth Conservancy and artist, Rachael McCampbell, (whose beautiful creek we were in), to raise funds for the Conservancy in a manner like no other. The table and event were styled by Nora Melton, who managed to create beautiful tables, which neither sunk nor floated away with the tide.
Other partners were Chef Dylan Morrison 1892 Restaurant who cooked an incredible meal with seasonal ingredients, creek side. Musician, Blessing Offor played and sang on a stage overlooking the creek and debuted his new song, "Rain on a Tin Roof."
The Harpeth contains a greater variety of aquatic life than anywhere else in the world, which President, Dorene Bolze was happy to show all the guests. The Harpeth River meanders through agricultural, forested and suburban areas of six counties in the greater Nashville region until it joins the Cumberland River.
