Edible Creek Dinner 2019
Summer calls for dinner under the stars, but in the heat of Nashville's June we decided to wade through the Harpeth for an evening of food, music and art
On a breezy June evening, guests meandered their way down into a swift bubbling creek, the most unlikely of places, to share a meal together. Edible Nashville partnered with Harpeth River Conservancy to dive into one of Nashville’s most unique dinners for a cause.
This year, Rachael McCampbell opened her home and backyard to host a creek dinner raising money for conserving the Harpeth River. Where better to dedicate an evening to the stream than in the creek itself. The creek runs shallow, but strong and donors didn’t hesitate to splash around for an evening of spectacular food and drinks provided by 1892 Restaurant and ambiance designed by stylist Nora Melton. The night was accompanied with relaxing tunes by Blessing Offor one of Nashville’s own. McCampbell displayed some of her own work and even showcased live paintings honoring the Harpeth for guests to delightfully enjoy. The art, music, food and gorgeous table setting combined made for a romantic evening in Nashville’s outdoors. What seemed an impossible task, over 50 guests dining in a creek, turned into a night of splendor. Special thanks to all who helped create such a spectacular evening and those who lifted the hem of their trousers to enjoy such a special event.
