As a creator of both words and melodies, musician Sarah Aili also tells stories through her upcycled materials. "Old threads, new stories” serves as Sarah’s motto at LilyBUNK Design.

Sarah Aili (eye-lee) grew up in Northern California’s Bay Area, where she developed her passion for the stage. After live shows, she would return home to her artistically inclined mother and entrepreneurial father, both constantly engaged in new projects. Sarah had an abundance of post-performance energy, which she channeled into various creative endeavors, such as art projects, closet reorganization and songwriting.

Over the years, Sarah’s journey took her first to New York City and then to Nashville, where her love for music and theater continued to thrive. But in addition to a life on the road performing, her desire to create offstage and run her own business persisted.

What started as a throw pieced together from collected fabrics was followed by an infinity scarf handmade from upcycled cashmere and cotton sweaters. When orders started flowing in, she established LilyBUNK Design Studios’ fall and winter cozy collection, which now includes hand warmers, wallets, purses and pillows.

Five years later, after becoming a cherished part of numerous family holiday gift-giving traditions, Sarah’s LilyBUNK Design has evolved into a multifaceted brand for handcrafted, slow-fashion and intentional lifestyle products. LilyBUNK Design now offers their own cozy, home decor, accessories, baby and wedding lines.Check her out for all your holiday shopping, local style.
