If you like the taste of miso soup, you'll love this butter. Bonito flakes (dried, flaked fish) can be found in most supermarkets as well as Nori (dried seaweed sheets). Use to make rice, on a piece of fish, or on grilled corn.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup bonito flakes
  • 2 cups toasted nori, crumbled
  • 2 sticks unsalted butter, room temperature
  • salt to taste

Preparation

1.  Place bonito flakes and nori into food processor and pulse until broken into tiny pieces. Add butter and pulse until nori is pureed as much as possible. Salt to taste. 

2.  With a spatula, scrape mixture onto wax paper and shape into a log. Chill.
