Edible Entertaining
Dining outdoors brings a soulful experience – one that connects us with the earth and each other.
Living in the south allows us to entertain outdoors well into the fall, or at least to throw open the doors and let the fresh air blow in. This holiday season, weather permitting, take your cue from our October farm dinner (cooked by Chef Austin Garcia of Fido) held at Breeden’s Orchard. You may not have a row of vintage peach trees to set your table under, but a good maple or magnolia will do the trick.
Rustic Entertaining Tips from stylist Nora Melton:
1 Fire up the grill for the oysters, vegetables and bread for a rustic smoky charm.
2 Use vintage trays to serve appetizers or family-style dishes.
3 Use recycled cans for local flower and greenery arrangements.
4 Use organic materials to set the table (such as apples and fresh thyme).
5 Try using mismatched silverware and glasses for a shabby-chic look.
