The Wandering Issue
LETTER FROM THE EDITOR:
Welcome to The Wandering Issue, where we explore fun local eats and adventures to satisfy your spring fever.
Speaking of wandering, we've wandered southeast and set up shop in Murfreesboro. After operating from our home office in Green Hills for seven years, it was time for a change, and well, we can't afford even a garage in Nashville. It's sad that the price of housing is out of reach for so many of us, but we'll be around just the same. Plus, more good things will be coming from our large sunny kitchen in the "boro."
Wandering brings us different food cultures. We couldn't be happier Josephine Villacorta wandered from The Philippines to the United States in 1971, bringing with her the dishes of her native country that she shares at her daughter and son-in-law's restaurant, Red Perch, when she's in town.
Take a road trip three hours east to Knoxville and explore all that city has to offer. It's more than a college town and football. It also contains the East TN Whiskey Trail, which you can check out our illustrated map of in the print issue on page 12. Or simply wander up to Springfield for the "best Korean food" chef Skylar Bush has ever had.
Nature your thing? We're always on the hunt for the next hidden spot. The Mistletoe Alpaca Farm is definitely a hidden spot and worth the 40 minute drive south to Franklin. Want more? Check out these 5 Best Road Trips, all nature oriented.
Speaking of nature, our farm dinners give you a good dose of it, along with farm to table food, music, and local libations. Tickets here. See you there.
