Allison + Berkley
How We Met
We met through mutual friends while spending the summer in Chicago in 2013.
The Wedding
We got married at Noelle, a boutique hotel in Downtown Nashville which is also where we got engaged. Specifically, we had our ceremony and reception in the Saidee Gallery and a happy hour in between in the Trade Room - both beautiful spaces! We had guests travel from across the country and they were able to stay at Noelle and celebrate with us all weekend.
Biggest Splurge
Florals! This was not something we had planned to prioritize until we decided to frame the large window in the Saidee Gallery with a floral arch for the ceremony. Lauren and her team at LMA Designs did an incredible job running with our color scheme and creating a beautiful, romantic feel.
Stop and Smell the Roses
Allison is from Long Island, NY and her cousin Kate (a bridesmaid) surprised us by taking us to a local boutique on Long Island called Scentsational, known for creating custom fragrances. We were able to make each other custom perfumes for our wedding day. We loved the idea of creating something completely unique that would invoke memories of our wedding day every time we smell the perfumes.
The Food
The night before, we had our rehearsal dinner at Martin’s Bar-B-Que and visited the honkey tonk bars on Broadway. During dessert at the reception, Coffee Cart Nashville served coffee with our pictures on the cups featuring art by local Nashville artist Brothers Design Company (who also created the pictures for our save the date cards). And, as guests returned to their rooms for the night, we provided hot chicken bites in to-go boxes for an authentic Nashville late night snack.
Favorite Moment
A violin and piano duo played instrumental versions of “The Rainbow Connection” while our wedding party processed, and “Oh Heavenly Day” as we walked down the aisle. Allison loves Patty Griffin, and it was a perfect song to lead up to saying our vows. We loved the actual ceremony, the 30 or so minutes after the ceremony that we took for ourselves, and of course dancing with family and friends. They brought the party.
