Chef Laura Rodriguez of the Heimerdinger Foundation faces a tricky, weekly task: To provide dozens of cancer patients healthy, immune-boosting meals, helping them combat their symptoms and side effects. Rising to this challenge, Chef Laura creates seven to eight original recipes using whole food ingredients and planning for as much variety in flavor as in nutrients. With a crew of volunteers made up mostly of teenagers she oversees prep, production, packaging, and cleanup. Oh, and she does this all in one day.
