Big Table Hosts Annual Fundraiser Aug. 24
Amanda G. Collins
Local non-profit, Big Table, is hosting their annual fall event, Eats Around the World 2026, on Monday, August 24 at the Franklin Marriott in Cool Springs. The immersive culinary experience will transport guests to Morocco and Brazil through cuisine and live entertainment to raise critical support for hospitality workers facing unexpected crises.
Big Table’s mission is to take care of hospitality workers whose job is to take care of others on a daily basis. Since opening its Nashville office in 2021, Big Table has become a trusted safety net for local restaurant and hospitality workers in need. Hospitality is one of the largest employment sectors in Davidson County. According to MIT’s living wage calculator the required salary for an adult and one child in Davidson County is $78,930, while the average wage for hospitality workers sits far below at $31,430. Big Table is there to help employees of the hospitality industry who are in crisis and continue to offer support afterward.
Big Table helps hospitality workers in crises through receiving a personal referral to help someone in need. The organization responds quickly when hospitality workers face housing instability, medical emergencies, transportation challenges, addiction recovery, domestic violence and other life-altering crises. Beyond meeting immediate needs, the organization provides ongoing coaching, encouragement and relationships that help people move toward long-term stability. Since launching in Nashville, Big Table has cared for team members from more than 150 hospitality employers across the region.
