Choy to Close After One Year in Business in The Gulch

After a year of bringing Chinese American cuisine to The Gulch, the team behind Choy (121B 12th Ave. N) will officially close its doors on Wednesday, July 23.

The announcement came via Instagram, where Moni Advani, Nishaan Chavda, and the rest of the team shared a heartfelt message reflecting on the past year—inviting guests to visit one last time.

“With full hearts, we say thank you. On behalf of our entire team and ownership, thank you for making this past year at Choy so special. It’s been an honor to share our take on Chinese American cuisine with Nashville—and every guest who walked through our doors became part of that story.”

Choy opened in July 2024, with executive chef Brian Griffith at the helm of the kitchen. Right off the bat, the concept offered a modern, refined take on familiar favorites—crispy duck, rich fried rice, dim sum, etc.—served in a contemporary space.

No specific reason was given for the closure, but love and gratitude for the local community will indeed be on full display during the restaurant’s final days.

“We’d love nothing more than to welcome you back—whether it’s to spend one more happy hour with us, revisit your favorite dish, or simply say goodbye. Come through.”

So, therefore, folks still have a little time to raise a glass, share a few final bites, and help close out Choy’s story on a high note.

Recap: Wednesday, July 23 is Choy’s final day (subject to change).
