Tennessee native Marti Emch created MEEL to support small farms and producers by bringing their healthy, local food to dinner plates all around Nashville. When you can’t make it to the farmer’s market, MEEL makes meal planning easy by delivering local, fresh food to your doorstep. And they've been doing it before the likes of Sprinly or Blue Apron.

Years ago, while selling homemade granola at a local farmer’s market, Marti took notice of the overwhelming bounty of fresh produce. Growing up in a household shaped by generations of farming, Marti’s family ate seasonally and preserved food from each harvest. It’s an ethos that has always stayed with her. This was the genesis for MEEL.

She was inspired to create meal kits that paired recipes with fresh, seasonal ingredients, offering convenient and easy dinner ideas for busy families.  A mother of twins, she relates to the busy lifestyle and the recurring question of “what’s for dinner?”

Her vision came to life when the first MEEL box shipped six years ago. Now, MEEL partners with local businesses like the Bloomy Rind and Brightside Bakeshop to offer artisan cheeses and pastries. Customers can even opt to have a MEEL CSA box delivered each week full of just-harvested produce.  A curated à la carte marketplace features small batch salad dressing, handmade body care products, local mushrooms and more. Localmeel.com is a one stop shop for anyone who wants fresh food delivered to their doorstep. From kits complete with everything necessary to make dinner to just a dozen eggs, Marti brings locally sourced food home.

Marti’s farm-to-table vision is soon expanding to BNA (Nashville International Airport). Travelers will be able to access fresh, nourishing food from MEEL’s “farm-to-flight” concept shop.
