As if the myriad of musicians and artisans weren’t enough to lure you to Bonnaroo this year, the festival now proudly presents a new tradition: BonnaROOTS Community Dinners.

Wildly popular its first year, the fundraiser dinner made yet another splash this year with a four-course Southern heritage menu comprised entirely of food sourced from within 200 miles of the Bonnaroo farm, if not from the farm itself. Each night, guests paid $50-$75 to claim one of 100 spots at the table alongside musicians, artists, and other surprise guests. All proceeds from the dinners were donated toward ending hunger in America through the work of Bonnaroo’s partners, Oxfam America and Eat for Equity. In case you missed the event, Edible Nashville has the inside scoop on the menu.

Here are a selection of BonnaROOTS recipes:

Parmesan Grits

A creamy side dish with a small kick from garlic and parmesan cheese.

Slow-Cooked Pork Shoulder

This recipe fed a crowd at the 2015 Bona-ROOTS dinner. But it lends itself beautifully at home too. The sweet-savory dry rub and searing before slow-cooking adds wonderful depth of flavor.

Buttermilk Panna Cotta

A delicately textured dessert with tart buttermilk and zesty lemon.
