Friday night was beautiful as the dinner table was set in the creek behind Wine in the Fork. As part of the Cumberland Rivet Basin, the creek trickles behind downtown Lipers Fork and meanders through most of Leipers Fork and adjoining Franklin. It was the perfect setting with a creek wide enough and shallow enough, and with plenty of bank space for people, lights, a stage and bars. So was our Fourth Annual Creek Dinner. Friday night the Rivertramps, who played at one of our first farm dinners in Columbia, were in town and graced us with their presence and great tunes. Speedy, another farm dinner veteran was in fine form with his new

Codigo 1530, the tequila brand of George Strait, premiered in 2 drinks aptly named, the Uppa Creek and the Downa Creek. With Chef Chris Ayala of Ellington's Restaurant in the Farilane Hotel downtown, and our own Chef Skylar Bush, plating up their farm to table menu, the evening was in motion. Saturday greeted us with overcast skies, and Sunday's rain until 3pm, at which point we scurried to dry everything and set the tables. Guests arrived at 6pm and the night was underway. And it couldn't have been better. As pictures paint a thousand words, here are some from the evening, shot by Rebecca Denton.
