January 7th may have started out at 22 degrees, but it heated up quickly at The Nashville Farmers' Market with the sultry warm flavors of Maneet Chauhan of Chauhan Ale & Masala House. Maneet lit up The Edible Kitchen with her exciting cooking that merges the hot, sultry flavors of India with the familiar ingredients of the South. Her Sweet Potato Croquettes with Black-eye Pea Green Curry and Apple Slaw took the farmers market by storm. With Chef Brian Riggenbach (of the new Mockingbird DIner) by her side, Maneet effortlessly demonstrated how to use garlic-ginger paste, cumin seeds, turmeric, and coriander. With the earthy smells wafting through the market house, the audience was hypnotized with Maneet and her bright, coloful and flavorful food.
