Julep Old Fashioned

The mint julep is a time-honored cocktail made with bourbon, sugar, mint, and crushed ice served in a frosted julep cup of silver or pewter. It has been the official drink of the Kentucky Derby since 1939. This year, 13 bartenders from around the country put a local spin on this classic drink.

"Nashville is a city that loves whiskey, the ones made not far from here and ones made just a little ways north. Giving a little Julep-inspired twist to a year-round favorite mixes it up and still keeps it simple enough that anyone can easily enjoy it in their own home without much fuss." -- Freddie Sarkis, Liquor Lab
