Nashville Farmers’ Market
It's summer at The Nashville Farmers' Market (NFM) and things are popping -- kettle corn, doughnuts, greens, corn, tomatoes, watermelon, cheese, free-range chicken, beef, lamb, and crafts. You can find African handmade purses, jewelry, and scarfs, woodworking by One Man One Garage, funky signs, and artwork. And did we mention music?
Tired from shopping? Grab a local draught beer from The Picnic Tap, which specializes in Nashville brews, with sampling encouraged. The market is also home to The Edible Kitchen, which has chef demos the first and third Saturday of the month. In addition, the night market happens the second Friday of every month, where vendors stay open from 5-10, with music and drinks in good supply. Inside, the Market House contains over 25 local restaurants, local crafts, music, and beer. The Grow Local Kitchen features new local food entrepreneurs trying out their foods. Since its inception on the town square in the early 1800’s, The Farmers’ Market has been a vital part of Nashville life. Although the market has had several homes, one thing has remained constant; a love of shopping for the best produce, foods, and finds in an exciting community setting.
(Note: the market house is currently closed due to the pandemic, but will open soon.)
