Loveless Cafe, Nashville Tennessee
Why We Love It: In 1951, Lon and Annie Loveless began serving chicken and biscuits out the front door of their home to travelers who passed by on US Highway 100 in Nashville. 60 years later, the Loveless crew are still at it, serving up Southern classics, all from scratch, to nostalgic fans and newcomers alike. The cooks arrive at 3 a.m. every day to start preparing meals to serve guests. Open 7 days a week from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., The Loveless Cafe is a fun place to try for breakfast, lunch, and dinner (and brunch and brinner--breakfast is served all day!). It is also a great place to buy gifts for loved ones, as the once operational motel rooms have been converted into marketplace shops that include favorite products from the Loveless kitchens like jams and smoked meats.
