Troy

Troy Hinke left Nashville to begin his composting career at Rodale Institute, an organic research farm in Kutztown, PA. Serving as Rodale's Compost Specialist Troy worked side-by-side with Dr. Elaine Ingham, considered one of the world's leading experts on soils and compost. Here he performed experiments with compost and compost tea on both large and small-scale agricultural production. From Rodale, Troy moved back to the Middle Tennessee area. He has since started and co-managed an organic farm and CSA, along with serving as the soil and compost tea specialist for a local landscaping company. In 2015 Troy and his partner Samin Green moved from Nashville to Chapmansboro, TN to start a farm and homestead. Living Roots Compost Tea officially came to fruition in March of 2017 and has been steadily growing ever since.
