📍 Location:

Nashville’s first history “non trivia” night party. Learn stuff. Be Smart. Eat Well. Drink Well.

An interactive history presentation, small-bites menu curated by Edible Nashville Executive Chef Skylar Bush & Chef David Leathers of Foodsmith, and tasty craft beers from New Heights Brewing.

New Heights Brewing Company invites you to go in the GAAPPPP and get in the game! The
acronym stands for “Great All-American Public Park Perfecting Party,” and features artisanal
cuisine, superb craft beer, a college-level history lecture, and a “non-trivia game card” for teams
to convert correct answers to multiple choice questions into bean bags for the final cornhole
challenge. Plus, after costs are covered, at least ten percent of all ticket sales go directly to
Friends of Fort Negley, the Nashville park just a beer barrel’s roll away.

The very first GAAPPPP will be on Tuesday, February 17th , and will cover American history
from 1848 to 1868 with a special focus on Nashville during this tumultuous time. “We chose this
consequential period because it’s not only bookended by two Tennessee presidents, James K.
Polk and Andrew Johnson,” says William Harwood, an adjunct history professor at Tennessee
State University and presenter of each month’s lecture, “but also because the period includes
the origins of Fort Negley. Edible Nashville Chef Skylar Bush will develop a menu inspired by an actual
historical figure, Sarah Estell, a woman of color who ran her own catering business in
antebellum Nashville.  Back in her day, St. Cloud Hill, the place Fort Negley now stands, was a famous picnic spot.
