Fifth and Taylor
Fifth and Taylor sits quietly at, oddly enough, Fifth and Taylor streets in Germantown, just blocks north of downtown Nashville.

As Nasvhillians we know where all the good spots are, not just the trendy, touristy "it" spots. So maybe that's why it was with a heavy heart we read the Wall Street Journal's article on Germantown as the Newest Destination Neighborhood. We loved Germantown when it consisted of empty lots, The Germantown Grill, and The Mad Platter. When Oktoberfest was charming. When SILO was new, and the apartment buildng that houses it was still a shock.  When City House sat alone on the block. Indeed Germantown is still a gem, even if it is inhabitated by hip transplants that walk to The Sounds stadium and recline on velvet sofa's in right field. We knew it then, and we know it now.
