Need a Lil' Getaway? 3 Farm Stays We Love

Barn at Bloomsbury Farm

Restless to travel? Us too. Escape to the country for a weekend without spending all day in the car. Here are 3 farm getaways we love.  They’re bucolic, out of the way, and give you a first-hand look of waking up (and going to sleep) on a farm (without the work). They also help the owners share their farm and livelihood with others.

Bloomsbury Farms, Smyrna
30-year-old Lauren Palmer has grown Bloomsbury Farms into one of the preeminent organic farms in middle Tennessee. With farm dinners, annual bonfires, and Friday night farm markets, Lauren has made Bloomsbury farms the center of life and community in Smyrna. The Loft at Bloomsbury opened in 2018 and is a place for escape. Like everything Lauren does, it’s warm and welcoming and perfectly curated. Located on over 400 acres of rolling farmland, the custom-designed loft is 45 minutes from Nashville, whilst providing a magical retreat for rest, romance, and relaxation.

The accommodations are outfitted with a full kitchen, bathroom, walk-in shower, laundry room, and one bedroom with a king bed and lux linen sheets. The bedroom is very private with a gorgeous, large window looking out over the farm. With one of the best CSA programs in town, you can even order a basket of fresh produce to cook while you’re there. Meander the property and check out the farmers market on Friday nights, or settle into an Adirondack chair in front of the fire.
