We have watched and/or been involved with each of these movies. Jeff Garner is a Nashvillian and fashion designer who is committed to making sustainable clothes that don’t damage people or the earth, which he brings to life in his documentary Let Them Be Naked. We had a screening of the movie Feeding Tomorrow January 2024 at The Blue Room in Nashville with a panel of farmers and activist who promote local and sustainable farming and eating. Food Roots, while not an environmental film is by Billy Dec, owner of Sunda New Asian in the Gulch (and Chicago). It follows him on his journey to the Philippines to discover his roots and family and the cooking of his mother’s country. The movie premiere was followed by a Fillipino feast at Sunda. The other films we had the pleasure to see at the Belcourt, who we thank for keeping our minds, hearts and intellect well fed.
