Most of us have taken buses, trains, and subways while travelling abroad or on vacation, yet we barely know where the bus station is in our own town. Such is the case with many Nasvhillians. As a result, we teamed up with WeGo (the newly branded MTA) for a "progressive dinner" on the bus. On Thursday, October 4, 55 Edible readers met at the WeGo bus station at 4:30 (Music City Central, 400 Charlotte Avenue), boarded the bus for a moveable feast down Charlotte Pike. We stopped at AVO, Miel, EiO & Hive, Farm Burger and MLRose for a night on the town. Folks, young and old, from all walks of life and parts of town rubbed elbows with each other and the regular bus riders for an interesting ride down Charlotte Avenue. Equipped with lanyards (with the route and stops) and the menus in hand, guests departed for special offerings at each of the stops.
First stop at the 28th/31st Avenue Connector (Routes 10 & 50) was vegetarian restaurant AVO in the One C1ty Center. They started us off right with:

Back on the bus and onto 42nd/Sylvan Park (Routes 10 & 50) to Farmburger where we indulged in: pork belly sliders w/ cucumber, radish, carrot & apple slaw and Golchuchang chili sauce, fries and floats made with vanilla ice cream and a creamy porter beer. Suprprisingly delicious and refreshing.
Back on the bus, and off to the event barn at Miel about 8 blocks down the road for, Bear Creek Farms Beef Tartare, Sweet Potato rounds and sips of a fabulous Old Vine Grenache/Syrah Blend. Folks meandered out on their own as the next stop was just a hop across the street to EiO & The Hive. As They close at 8pm, we had the restaurant to ourselves and dispersed amongst the community tables, four tops and couches for a buffet of:
