Josephine's Hot Chocolate

If you’re like us, and always searching for the perfect hot chocolate, look no further. Josephine’s may be closed, but their hot chocolate lives on with this silky recipe from pastry chef Kayla May. We add a tablespoon of malt powder too. Give it a try.

    Ingredients

    • 2 cups whole milk
    • 3/4 cup chopped dark chocolate
    • 1/4 cup dark brown sugar
    • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • pinch salt

    Preparation

    1. Chop chocolate and combine with sugar, vanilla, and salt in a medium bowl.
    2. Bring milk to a boil and immediately pour over chocolate. Let everything sit for 60 seconds then whisk everything together until smooth.
    3. Pour into tea pot to keep warm and serve with marshmallows, peppermint bark, and graham crackers.
