Simple Bolognese Sauce for Gatherings

Local ground pork (from Wedge Oak Farm) and milk transform tomato sauce into a rich Italian Bolognese Sauce. We used Tomato Sauce we “put up” in the summer from our bounty of heirloom tomatoes, but you can use your favorite tomato sauce. –Editor, Jill Melton

    Ingredients

    • 1 pound ground pork (Wedge Oak Farm)
    • 1/2 cup chopped onion
    • 1 cup milk
    • fresh basil
    • 6 cups Lazy Tomato Sauce

    Preparation

    1. Saute ground pork in a large saucepan with onion until cooked. Add one cup milk. Saute 2 minutes more. Add Lazy Tomato Sauce or 2 (29-ounce) cans whole tomatoes and cook 10 minutes. Add chopped fresh basil. Serve over pasta.
