Mark's Blackberry Jam

Four ingredients and some elbow grease, and you've got a great way to capture the summery flavor of fresh blackberries for the rest of the year.

    Ingredients

    • 6 cups fresh blackberries
    • juice of 1 lemon
    • 5 cups sugar
    • pectin, 1 pack

    Preparation

    Combine lemon and blackberries. Bring fruit to boil, crushing with a masher.

    Add sugar and pectin and bring to a boil for a minute.

    Remove from heat.

    Fill jars with jam and proceed per canning instructions.

    Yield: 6 cups
