We love our pets so why not celebrate them this summer. We’ve partnered with Vodka for Dog People for Dog Restaurant Week. It kicks off July 8 with a Yappy Hour dog party at 51st Kitchens & Bar in the Nations. While on the patio with your pup, you can cool off with a special cocktail for humans and a portion of the proceeds will go towards animal nonprofits. All of this is made possible by Vodka for Dog People, a program of Tito’s Handmade Vodka, which works to better the lives of pets and their families far and wide.
 
From July 8 to 12, you can bring your pooch to 51st Kitchen & Bar for a fantastic summertime feast. The fido-friendly menu includes options like pupsicles made of frozen bone broth, turkey and veggie patties, beef sliders and truffle treats.

Beef Sliders for Pups
 
1 pound(s) ground beef, cooked
1 1/2 cups pearled barley, cooked
1/2 cup(s) unsweetened applesauce
1 cup(s) green beans, chopped
 
1. Combine all the ingredients in blender or food processor, and pulse briefly to mix them together.
2. Measure out ¼ cup of the mixture and form small patties.
Recipe notes
The green beans in this recipe can be either raw or cooked.
 
Turkey Burgers for Pups
 
1 pound(s) ground turkey, cooked
1/3 cup(s) mashed sweet potatoes, cooked
1 cup(s) brown rice, cooked
1/2 cup(s) steamed, shredded kale
1/2 cup(s) green beans, chopped
1/2 cup(s) unsweetened cranberries, chopped
 
1. Combine the green beans and cranberries in blender or food processor, and blend well.
2. Add the remaining ingredients and pulse briefly to mix them together.
3. Measure out ¼ cup of the mixture and form small patties.
Recipe notes
The green beans in this recipe can be either raw or cooked.
 
Bone Broth for Pups
 
2 pounds beef bones
6 cups water (more if needed)
1 tablespoon(s) apple cider vinegar
 
1. In a large pot, cover the bones with water, add the apple cider vinegar and simmer on low.
2. Cook the broth for up to 48 hours. The longer it cooks, the more gelatinous it will
3. Once the broth is finished cooking, remove from heat and let cool.
4. Pour the broth into ice cube molds and freeze. Now the frozen treat is ready for your pup!
Recipe notes
Do not add extra spices to this broth—no onions and garlic!
 
Pumpkin Truffles for Pups
 
1/2 cup(s) canned plain pumpkin
1 cup(s) rolled oats
3 tablespoons peanut butter
1/3 cup(s) shredded unsweetened coconut
 
1. Mix all ingredients except the coconut together.
2. Scoop out in individual tablespoon servings, roll into a ball and roll in coconut.
3. Let sit in refrigerator for 2-3 hours to firm up.
Recipe notes
Make sure to buy peanut butter that does not contain xylitol, as it is toxic to dogs. For the
canned pumpkin portion, do not use pie mix.
