Rachel Vandivort of RV Pottery
Rachel Vandivort sent an email saying she has read about our farm dinners and wanted to help. What could she do? "Make plates," we asked? And that was how we got to know potter Rachel Vandivort of RV Pottery. Rachel not only "threw" over 100 plates for our October farm dinner at Katharos Farm, she added small lil vases for the place cards, bowls for the salad and a mish mash of other items. The day before the dinner she delivered them in her lil outback that her boy freind had outiftted with drawers to carry her pottery, with her little dog in tow.
Rachel is a free spirited artist with a big heart. She loves fringe and wears it every chance she gets. She earned a degree in Studio Arts with an emphasis in ceramics from Belmont University. It was during hertime at Belmont that she fell in love with clay, quicklyfinding her own signature style as a functional potter. She has continued to develop and reinvent her craft andstrives to create beautiful, unique pottery that finds use in people’s everyday lives. Rachel hand throws and fires all pieces at her home studio in Dickson, TN.
We adore her pottery almost as much as we adore her. You can find her pottery at rvpottery.com. Follow her on instagram @rvpottery for specials and updates.
