Middle Tennessee is blessed with a number of working grist mills. Readyville Mill is one of our favorites. Nestled in Readyville—home to rolling hills, pastures and horses—the mill was built in 1812 and restored in 2009. It's quaint, educational, and charming, but what keeps us going back is the whole-wheat pancakes—made with wheat ground on the premises. Any whole-wheat flour will work, but we recommend a road trip to any of our grist mills to pick up a bag of theirs.
