The serious contestants in Metro’s annual Ann Chapman Holiday Lights Contest start stringing yuletide lights on their houses long before the leaves are stripped bare, despite the future agony of their January NES bills. The real winners are the Christmas lights-lovers who can tour the lit homes all season. Metro will judge the contest by December 6th this year, but you can tour all month long after the city posts the addresses of entrants. Wrap up your tour with a treat at Goozy, where you can buy a hot chocolate for the little guys, a hot fudge mocha latte for the teens, and—for the grown folks—maybe a hot chocolate with a shot of Bailey’s to bring out your Christmas cheer.
