Five Senses debuts a new sustainable special
Five Senses is debuting a new special featuring Marine Stewardship Council-certified sustainable American Seafoods’ Wild Alaska Pollock from August 11-25. The dish is Salted Wild Alaska Pollock Brandade, which is their rendition of a Thai fish dish, featuring whipped Wild Alaska Pollock with creamy potato and a crispy rice + herb salad.
The center of the dish is wild caught in the icy waters of Alaska’s Bering Sea, one of the most monitored well-managed fishing areas in the world, and is one of the world’s most abundant and sustainable seafood species. With zero fresh water usage and the lowest carbon footprint among mainstream protein, fishing for Wild Alaska Pollock means minimal environmental impact left behind. Not to mention, it’s considered one of the most heart-healthy foods in the world. The protein-rich, flaky whitefish is a member of the cod family, with a tender yet firm texture and a fresh, mild taste.
Five Senses executive chef and owner Mitchell Murphree realizes the importance of sustainability and is giving customers the opportunity to enjoy delicious food, while also reducing their carbon footprint. Stop in before August 25th to sample this delicious and environmentally-friendly dish!
