The Black Abbey Brewing Company is hosting its annual celebration of barrel-aged beer, 8 More Beers of Winter. On February 3rd, the brewery will feature a rotating selection of Black Abbey beers that have been aged in barrels previously used for whiskey and other spirits.

For the occasion, 8 More Beers of Winter partners with Corsair Distillery to come up with a series of collaborative beers with brewer Karen Lassiter at The Corsair Beer Lab. “We at Corsair love collaborating with other ‘evil geniuses’ like the good folks at Black Abbey,” says Darek Bell, Corsair owner/distiller. “These kinds of creative collaborations are what makes what we do so much fun. It is our gasoline.”

The event will take place at the brewery taproom (2952 Sidco Drive in the 100 Oaks area), known as Fellowship Hall, from 12-
8pm. Local food truck The Steaming Goat will be on hand offering custom-steamed sandwiches, and local DJ Craft Grooves will handle the music. There will also be a special tapping of Lorica, a Black Abbey barrel-aged beer brewed in collaboration with Jameson’s Irish Whiskey.

Note that growler fills will not be available during the event and there will be no brewery tours.
