The "Red" wood-fired Pizza at Smith & Lentz

Smith & Lentz is back! After losing their roof and having almost a complete rebuild after the March 2020 tornado, this East Nashville brewery opened its doors again in February. We have a soft spot in our hearts for this small brewery ever since they were a part of our Progressive Dinner down Galatin Pike October 2019. They are  "a small, fiercely independent craft brewery with a focus on lager (especially pilsners) and hop-driven IPA. These are beers we wanna drink ourselves, so we are drawn to brew them the most."

The space is larger with a kitchen and new wood burning oven in the rear and a new beer garden out back. Their pizzas are hand made by chef Chris who cut his teeth at Rolf & Daughters for the past 5 years.  He hails from Grand-Rapids, and provides his Midwest spirit in everything he does, including his home made Ranch dressing served with the pizza. The pizzas are 16-inches with a perfectly blistered wood fired crust. We ordered the No. 6 Vodka Pie with a vodka sauce, home made ricotta, mozzarella, sopresatta and red onion. Delicious and perfect for 3 of us.

The beers are delicious as ever with the Thank You for Sending Me a Pilsner our favorite. Not going out yet? Call in your order for a pizza and crowlers and they'll deliver it to your car.
