Ham salad is a Southern salad staple that tends to take a back seat in modern food culture to chicken or egg salads. It’s a retro dish at Woolworth on 5th, which is known for its role in the Civil Rights Movement. Today, the menus at Woolworth on 5th honor the restaurant’s past by making a welcome table for all, using many of the iconic recipes from the original run. Delicious anytime, but especially handy a recipe during the holiday season when we sometimes have more ham than we know what to do with. Honestly, who can’t use another great leftover avenue?
