Smyrna Hits the Big Screen

In 2007, All Saints Episcopal Church was on the brink of shutting down when a group of Christian Karen refugees from Myanmar entered the doors one Sunday and found a new home under the hand of Vicar Michael Spurlock. When he allowed its newest members to use some of the church’s acreage to plant crops for their families and the congregation, surprising things happened. The Hallmark-esque film, with actor John Corbett playing Spurlock, beautifully captures All Saints Episcopal Church’s story. It was also filmed on location at the church in Smyrna. The film is playing at theaters nationwide. Great viewing for the entire family.
