Singer Song Writer Dani Rose Cooks up a Quiche

Rising country star Dani Rose has been raking in raves in Rolling Stone and People and
getting her songs used on hit TV shows like Yellowstone, Roswell, True Blood and Fire
Country. You can dig all she’s got goin’ down on Tik-Tok, Instagram and YouTube,
singing the national anthem at pro sporting events, opening shows for Luke Combs, Old
Dominion and Little Big Town, and spinning out streaming music. With an album and
new single in the works for the fall, the Virginia native has sparked glowing comparisons
to Carrie Underwood’s fierce vocal firepower, Kacey Musgraves’ wry wit and wordplay,
and Sheryl Crow’s groovy hipster ‘tude. And she’s really heating things up after playing
it cool in California for several years, where she got her first taste of success in a female
country-pop trio called Honey County. When that didn’t exactly pan out to be the career
gold rush she’d hoped, she packed up and headed to Nashville. You can hear about her
West Coast experience in her sassy new song California—and about how she’s now
starting a new chapter in Mourning Party, a zesty countryfied rave-up that’s nowhere
near as grieve-y as the first half of its title might suggest. “It’s saying goodbye to the old
me and celebrating the new me,” says Dani, who invites listeners to join the graveside
gala, grab some flowers and bring a casserole. Speaking of heating things up and
casseroles, she has a good one. “It’s not super-filling, and it pairs well with a green
salad or summer squash.” Full of goodies like spinach and broccoli, “it’s like a little
garden for your dinner table,” she adds. So, where’d the recipe come from? Like the
many other things she checks off in another song, she says she Got It From My Mama.
[NOTE: Assuming you’ll want to throw to the recipe online…]
