Chickens, fish, goat, ribs, squash and cabbage dangle amongst the martin's BBQ pit at The Music city Food and Wine Festival in Nashville.

The Music City Food & WIne Festival hosted by the Kings of Leon—fitting for Nasvhille—is a panolopy of local food, drink, chefs and restaurants all on the cutting egde of flavor, trends products and music. But the most intriguing piece of the festival is by far the Martins BBQ Pit. Hosted by pitmaster, Pat Martin of Martin's BBQ fame, he and and chef freinds, Edgar Pendley, Urban Grub, Trey Cioccia, The Farmhouse, Sal Vila, Greko Greek Street Food, amongst others, leisurely tend the wood stoked fire pits and have fun with food. On Saturday, Chef Pendley was tending to a hanging rack of goat, while a salt crusted whole halibut was buried in the ash. Chickens were dangling from above doing a slow smoke for the most tender succulent chicken we've ever had. Chef Andrew Zimmern was on hand filming an episode of an upcoming show. It was a buzz with fire and smoke, and some damn good eating.   If you go to the festival check it out.
