Visitors to Cheekwood's Harvest Days were surprised  with a cooking demo by chef Sylar Bush of Park Cafe in The Edible Kitchen.

Born in Alabama, Skylar Bush has stayed true to his heritage specializing in low-country and farm-to-table cuisine. He began his culinary journey at Satterfield’s in Birmingham where he prepared Rabbit Tagliatelle with Chickory and Blue Cheese.

Later, in Tuscaloosa at Epiphany, Skylar expanded his portfolio with Southern produce such as butterbeans, Snow’s Bend carrots, & pattypan squash. Seafood became pivotal in Skylar’s career at Chuck’s. With their own fleet of boats, he was able to fuel his passion for fishing, while supplying many Southern purveyors with quality gulf seafood.  Eventually, Skylar laid roots in Nashville and began chefing at The Southern where he learned the art of fine dining combined with catering.  After collaborating with the Honeysuckle Local & Social, he is now at Park Cafe, in Sylvan Park.

When Skylar is not cooking, he is watching GA football, playing music, hiking, fishing, or playing with his daughter Ava.
