Espresso Chocolate Buttercream

This buttery frosting has just the right amount of coffee flavor to frost anything from brownies to cake.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup leftover espresso or strong coffee
  • 1/2 cup (2 ounces) chocolate morsels
  • 1/2 cup cream or milk
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Preparation

1. Place cream (or milk), coffee and chocolate in small bowl. Cover and microwave for 30 seconds or until chocolate is soft. Let stand a couple minutes. Mix well and cool

2. Place 1 stick butter in mixing bowl. Whip 5 minutes until light and fluffy. Add 1 cup powdered sugar. Whip well. Add cooled coffee mixture. Whip well. Makes 1 1/2 cups frosting.
