Why We Love It: Owner David Mitchell and General Manager Scott Edsall have been working together at Mitchell Delicatessen for years. When it came time to move the deli into their new digs, they decided the old location was ready for something new. That is when the idea of Rudie’s was born. Rudie’s Seafood and Sausage focuses on whole animal butchery and curing. Their seafood is brought in fresh from a few direct sources including Hama Hama Oyster Co. and Kelly and Chris Seafood. Their pigs are raised at Byler Farms, an Amish farm, located in Summertown. They also serve Belgium beer in the traditional style, which includes the appropriate glassware and temperature.
