convivial |kənˈvivēəl| adjective(of an atmosphere or event) friendly, lively, and enjoyable.• (of a person) cheerful and friendly; jovial.

When it comes to restaurants, Germantown has an embarrassment of riches. Add another to the list. Enter Henrietta Red, "A  Convivial Restaurant and Barroom."  We typically dine with friends, but if this bright, clean spot cultivates new ones, bring it on. Shepherded by the Goldberg boys of Strategic Hospitality, Henrietta Red sets the tone one expects of their properties; hip and happening.  Nestled into the corner of 4th Street North and Madison, the  crisp and classy white brick walls, are interrupted only by buttery, camel-colored bar chairs, a few green woven, beachy loungers. But the focal point is the seemingly endless marble bars, which cold, sleek and minimal are the perfect amuse bouche for the entree: briny oysters. Raw, fried, and roasted, these thoughtfully chosen bivalves are accompanied by pillowy, baked bread and an assortment of seasonal sides--perfect for leisurely noshing and close encounters.  Now, if we could "byos" (bring your own saltines) and bowl a game or two, convivial it would truly be. Check it out.
