When we first heard about Hip Donelson, we thought it was so fun, but probably an ill-fated attempt to keep up with the rest of Nashville. Not so. Donelson is hip, from their amazing farmer's market held on Friday Nights with music and local beer, to some hidden gems, such as Homegrown Taproom and Marketplace.  (It's also affordable, but we digress.) Just a ten minute drive from downtown Nashville is a cozy watering hole in yes, Donelson. It may be housed in a strip mall, but that's where any resemblance to a homogenized chain ends. This earthy taproom and marketplace boasts 24 carefully chosen taps of almost all local breweries, a homegrown kitchen with a menu friendly to all (vegans, carnivores, and those gluten-free alike) and a marketplace with local products like Soberdough Artisan Brew Bread, Walker’s Bloody Mary Mix, and Ousley Ouch salsa. Grab a growler and go, or pick a local pint and sit at one of their two wooden bars or scattered tables. Try their local tempeh, bacon popcorn or a sandwich with Porter Road Butcher meat. At Sunday brunch you can grab a beermosa, cider cocktail or Eighth and Roast’s Nitro Coffee.

Be sure to check out their live music on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights, or if trivia is more your style, drop in on Thursday at 8 pm.

And if that doesn't sound cool enough, how about beer and yoga? Every other Saturday is Zen @ 10, a yoga class at 10 am among the taps! Their next class is Saturday, March 25th.
